CANCELLATION POLICY: First-time late cancellations will result in a charge of $75 and full-appointment price for subsequent late cancelations. Payment must be made on all outstanding invoices prior to booking or attending the next treatment session.

Virtual Physiotherapy

Synergy offers secure virtual physiotherapy assessments. All that is required is a device (phone/tablet/computer) with video and sound. We will take a complete history, as well as perform a functional movement assessment. Together we'll build a treatment plan.

Grace is a nonbinary (they/them) registered massage therapist local to Kjipuktuk (Halifax) and Punamu’kwati’jk (Dartmouth) and is fluent in French and English. They have an atheletic background and over a decade of experience in martial arts. They are a graduate from The Canadian College of Massage & Hydrotherapy and has worked in a variety of specialized clinics such as pregnancy, arthritis, neurology and spa. They have taken additional continuing education courses for trans and gender diverse care, scar work, breast/chest massage and pelvic floor massage therapy. They have experience working with athletes, chronic care patients, pre/post natal, neurodivergent folks and are excited to add their skill set to the Synergy Team. Victoria is a bilingual Physiotherapist native to Halifax. She pursued studies in Quebec, earning a Bachelor of Science with a specialization in Clinical Exercise Physiology at Concordia University in 2007 and a Masters of Physiotherapy at McGill University in 2013 while playing varsity Rugby. She also has partially completed a professional Diploma in Osteopathy from the College D’etudes Osteopathiques du Canada (CEO).

Victoria’s treatment philosophy revolves around empowering the patient to take an active approach to their rehab goals and treatment, through personalized therapeutic exercise, hands-on manual therapy, dry needling and education. She has taken postgraduate training in manual therapy, pelvic floor rehabilitation, acupuncture, dry needling, concussion rehabilitation, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) and clinical Pilates. Victoria has always been an active individual who aims to incorporate movement into all aspects of her life. Martha is the founder of SYNERGY Physiotherapy + Pilates. She is a physiotherapist and osteopath with over 20 years of experience in injury prevention and treatment.

Martha has postgraduate certifications in manual and manipulative therapy, acupuncture, pelvic floor rehab, osteopathy and pilates.

Martha’s experience working with clients of all abilities has taught her that to achieve optimal performance, you must look beyond the symptoms and treat the whole person. Her healing philosophy centers on promoting health, wellness and performance through manual therapy, education and exercise.

Martha has an extensive sports background, and has competed internationally as a member of the Canadian National Trampoline Team. She has travelled worldwide as a physiotherapist and performance medicine supervisor for Cirque du Soleil (2003-2008). Martha began to integrate the Pilates method into her treatments while working at Cirque, and was the first to bring this unique approach to Eastern Canada. She is also one of Nova Scotia’s few Physiotherapists that have completed a five year + thesis post graduate program in Manual Osteopathy. Martha enjoys working with all levels of athletes, and is a member of the integrated support team for Gymnastics Canada. She has travelled with Team Canada to many international competitions, including the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.

Jalisa was born in New Brunswick and moved with her family to Qatar and Oman when she was young. While living in the Middle East she competed internationally for swimming. Jalisa moved back to the Maritimes to complete her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at Dalhousie University. During her degree she volunteered as an athletic trainer for various sports teams. After graduation, she worked for 2 years as a research assistant and coordinator in the department of Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine at the QE II Hospital.

Jalisa then returned to school and attended McGill University to follow her passion and become a Physiotherapist. At McGill, she gained a special interest in Pelvic Health and obtained her female Level 1 certification. She then went on to continue her studies in Male Pelvic Health. She continues to work closely with McGill faculty in research pertaining to Pelvic Health.

In her spare time Jalisa enjoys swimming, going to the gym, and spending time exploring the outdoors. She is excited to join the Synergy team, and use her orthopaedic, pelvic health and exercise skills to help her patients achieve their goals. Francesca brings over 15 years of experience to the team at Synergy. Francesca received her Masters of Science in Physiotherapy from the University of Toronto in 2004 and has been a part of Synergy since it’s inception in 2011. She has postgraduate training in manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, pelvic floor rehabilitation, acupuncture, and osteopathic techniques. She has been a certified Stott Pilates instructor since 2010.
